Chapter 65:  Deer
October 24, 2016
Howdy y'all!

So this week was pretty good. We did everything from go tracting to chase a deer down the road with our car. No lie we really did! So I got some fantastic news! Audry from my last area is going to be baptised!!! Me and Elder Overfield found her when we were in Altamont. That honestly made my day hearing that. So I am glad because our ward is starting to kick it into gear and help us out. We just got a new couple that moved in. They are both return missionaries and they are on fire! They said they are always available for us to use them when teaching. Every missionary wants to hear that. I think one moment that stuck out to me this week was where we taught his guy and asked him to pray about the book of Mormon and in the closing prayer he actually did! In all my time being a missionary that was a first. Made me happy. So that's all I've got for this week. I will write more next week. Sure love y'all.

Golfing on PDay

Chapter 64: Pizza and Hot Wings

October 17, 2016

What's happenin' y'all? This week was pretty crazy.

So riding bikes in Tennessee is fun. Not really. The craziest experience is when we booked 8 miles and 5 of the 8 were uphill on the highway at 8:30 at night. Not fun at the time but we laugh at that memory now. I don't think I've ever slept so good in my life. But we had a WAY COOL MOMENT this week. So we have an investigator and she has been posting our visits with her on her Facebook. This last time she had us go love on her Facebook and we got to bear our testimonies to a good fifty people! That was a really cool moment for us. She had friends from all over so we literally got to preach the gospel to all he world!!! Technology when used right is sweet. Y'all  check us out. Our mission is also on Instagram so hit that up. We also had a lot of opposition this week. Not many people wanted to here from us. But I know this is true. I sure wouldn't be riding this bike over every Hill and holler if I didn't know that Jesus Christ lives and loves us, that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that the book of Mormon contains the fullness of His everlasting gospel. I know that. If you don't then find out for yourself! Ask God. He'll let y'all know. Hope yuns have a good week.

Sure love ya

Chapter 63:  Email

October 10, 2016

Hey y'all,

So this week was pretty good. It was a little hard at first. Our best investigators are going on a trip and won't be back until mid December. We had to say goodbye because it's likely that we won't be here when they get back. We sure did love them.
This week we have had some great experiences. There have been times where I let Elder Carlson take the lead and he would feel prompted to go to a specific place. In doing so we always have had great moments. I'm proud of our youth today. They are so prepared to do this work. I'm not worried about leaving this mission behind when the time comes. It will be in good hands. We have cycled through so many people that we are teaching.  I don't think we really have many persons that we still teach. We did have an investigator move in named Rosalynn. She has been taught so much and she has considered being baptised. Y'all pray for her!
Sorry this email is short again. I promise it'll be better next time.
Sure love ya,
Elder Weight

Chapter 62: The Bus

October 3, 2016

How's it all going everybody? Wasn't conference sweet? I think out of all the times I've ever watched it this time has helped me the most. It seems like all my questions I've had have been answered which is amazing. If you haven't seen it, watch it! If you have, do it again! No words I can say can describe it's pure amazingness.

So this week we have been trying to figure out life without the car. It's been pretty crazy. We finally were able to get some bus passes. So we tried to figure out where all the stops are at. As we were eating lunch one day we realised we were gonna miss the bus. We ran a long way in the rain to try to get to the stop and when we get there it left. So we freaked out for a little bit but then this guy in a van came and offered us a ride. We got in and he was funny because he knew missionaries a long time ago but didn't like the church. We get to the transit center and we got told a sermon by this guy who was dressed really uniquely. Then this guy who wasn't "all the way there" went over and was sweet talking this girl and Elder Carlson had the idea to go save her. So we distracted the guy as she made the getaway. She whispered thanks and booked it. We caught the next bus and headed up to our appointment. We have been very blessed to find rides when we needed them. God looks out for His missionaries. This conference weekend I've learned a lot. I think one of the things I've been reminded the most of has been gratitude for the little things. Recently I've been really grateful that I'm a missionary. Especially on the days that it seems like nothing goes right...I'm just glad I'm here. Remember gratitude in the hard times y'all.

Well, I want to let ya know I know Jesus loves ya and there's nothin you can do about it. Sorry. It's the truth. He is always there even if you don't feel like it. He's been there for me and I'm grateful for those times.

Sure love ya,

The District

Chapter 61: New Assignments

September 26, 2016

So this email....

We can start out by saying one simple word. Service. That is what we did alot of. At the beginning of the week we went service tracting which is basically where we go out in service clothes and ask people if they need service done. The very first house we knocked on we met the coolest country guy ever and we did all kinds of stuff for him.

So our investigators that we are mainly working with right now is Patricia. She has been coming to church for the past two weeks and she also went to women's conference. That was a funny story actually. She called us because she had to get her years mowed and she wouldn't be able to make it. So we went over to her house and mowed it for her. Ain't nothing gonna keep her from the spirit!
So I will tell y'all whats up with transfers this time. So the zone leaders are getting moved to Hopkinsville to be in the stake presidents ward. So I have now become the Clarksville 3rd ward District leader. I am still training Elder Carlson but Elder Basham will be going to Lewisburg. Glad he gets to go to the sticks. He needs that. But my district only has 4 missionaries in it! I went from 14 which was my largest district to the smallest district I've had. So life goes on for me here in Clarksville.

I sure do love y'all. Take it easy.

Chapter 60: Service is Best

Hey Y'all!

So let me tell ya what has happened in the last little bit. We went on exchanges and Elder Larsen from Morgantown came down. We had some fun and did some work. Got to go to Morgantown for district meeting and see the Kentucky gang. Those guys are awesome. We did a huge load of service. We went to Patricias house and she was sick but we changed our clothes at her house and cleaned her gutters. We got to go on the roof so yeah. We also went later to help pull out some trees in a members yard. That was tough. Those trees were mean suckers. But we were dirty and bleeding in the end so that means we did it right. We also signed up next week to do some logging for a member later on so I will let y'all know about that. The best stuff was later on in the week. We helped out with the emergency preparedness fair that happened at the church. We got to help out the kids. We built miniature whiteboards and bowling alleys. I got to use a hammer so I was happy. We also talked to the cops that were set up there and they asked us a bunch about the church and they said the police department might invite us over to the station one day and feed us some barbecue. We had a really cool experience with how to begin teaching this week. We were tracting in the evening and we went up to this open door. We knocked and the woman inside was Pretty irritated. She was trying to get us to leave but as we started to ask about what was up and establishing our purpose, we got in and had an awesome conversation and she ended up with a book of Mormon. It was cool to see that even people that come off as mean or rude are really cool people if they snap out of it.

It was funny because at the end she predicted what our futures would contain. She said after my mission I would go and raise some Cain but settle down after and become a successful business man. She said I had a wild look in my eye. Haha. Well I want to write more but this week seems like a huge blur. I can barely remember my own name. Thank goodness I have a name tag. All I can say is I am grateful to be a missionary. Even if I screw up a lot while being one, at least I am a missionary. I have the opportunity to do something that only so few people can do. Love this church. It changes lives.

Keep on keepin on,

Sure love ya,

Elder Weight

I made the best hamburger today I have ever eaten. It is a step up from my grilled cheese burger. It's a 1/3 pound burger with mozzarella, bbq sauce, onion rings, bacon, and chili between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It was way good.
The best burger ever!

Okay, the weirdest thing I've eaten on my mission...kangaroo jerky
