Elder Weight~
Hey everyone!
Sorry for no email last week. You can
thank my iPad for that. It decided to delete BOTH my really long and
time consuming emails that I sent out. After it deleted the second time I
threw it down and said I'm do e with this...so chapter 20 should have
been called Tiwi Strikes and about the Christmas party zone conference
we had and how we had a white elephant exchange also. We also got TIWIS.
They are blackboxes that are supposed to help us. But ours thinks the
speed limit is always 10 miles below that actual limit. So we always end
up having people pass us or we are 'those 'people that cause traffic.
Anyway what happened this week!
This week we had a barbecue for pday. All the local elders came and we had a lot of good food!
We also did a cool picture for the
Mormon.org website. It was pretty intense orchestrating it but it turned out in the end!
Tuesday
we had a really neat lesson with a member. We showed he new video for
Christmas this year. That video is so cool! We then talked about how
Christmas time was the time to help those around us, how that is one of
the ultimate gifts we can give to our savior.
Matthew 25
40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
So we talked about
how we can gift people the best gift of all and that us the gospel! We
gave them some pass along cards to the
Mormon.org
website and invited them to share them with their friends or those they
think who could use it. They liked that. Hats what I'd encourage yall
to do. Give somebody the gospel and it doesn't have to be big, just
invite them to church or give them a card or a book of Mormon or
whatever, but give somebody a chance to hear the gospel because
honestly, that is the best gift!
Mainly we
have done a lot of service this week. We have been racking leaves for a
sick member couple...but It's taking awhile because they own about 2
acres of land. It's been fun though because they have us put them to the
burn pile... Everybody has one here! I love the south. We also were
able to somewhat help with splitting wood for a member. I say somewhat
because half the members in the ward see in the logging business
so...they all came with their massive chainsaws and hacked three trees
down and got them stacked in about an hour. We kind of sat and watched
that one...but still.
We had a cool ward
Christmas party on friday. We were part of the young men and women
performance. They did the 12 days of Mormon Christmas. For two it was
two years on a mission. When it got to us we put on another tie. At he
end we had twelve ties in plus the ones we were wearing. For some reason
everyone was amazed with the fact that we had that many ties. We were
like "that ain't all of them." They also did the story if Conrad. I like
that story. It is a good one. The primary also put on the nativity.
That was funny to watch. Good times!
Sunday
seemed to be our busiest day. We had our ward breakfast which was
extremely good! And before sacrament meeting. We were able to visit a
lot of people. There are do many good people here but so many less
actives. The bishop asked a less active member and she said it is
honestly laziness. She's like...yup it's people's laziness. It is so
easy to get out of a good habit yet so hard to quit a bad one. And
what can you do about that? To be honest there really isn't anything you
can do about that. All you can do is keep loving and inviting. It's in
their hands and they must choose for themselves. But we must never stop
doing g what we can.
Well I hope yall like it.
I
want to add my witness of the savior and how he was born so we could
have peace. The thing is if you want him to prove it to you, you need
to go to him. Read the scriptures, go to the
Mormon.org
website, ask someone that knows. I have had more peace and honest, true
happiness because of taking the time to discover him for myself. I
guarantee the same result to all who try.
you need to discover him.
I'm
ready for Christmas! It's not going to much of a hard working day.
Especially new years. But I guess that's how it is so..alright.
I love you all and have a merry very happy super amazing lovelyful Christmas former Altamont Tennessee!
